Adam Green has accomplished a lot over the past 5 years. The release of 'Hatchet' in 2007, which Green wrote and directed, demonstrated his old-school American horror sensibility with some of the best gore scenes since the early 80s. His next release, 'Spiral', expanded on that to show his ability to balance character and tension and pull some great performances from the actors. Green was the center of controversy when he decided to release 'Hatchet 2' in theaters un-rated... and deal with the aftermath of that decision. Today Green is working on the first original offering by the Fearnet network, the sitcom 'Holliston', and the early buzz is very positive. In this interview Adam Green speaks candidly about the projects leading to today, future projects in the works and shares insider stories ranging from why Kane Hodder has to wear gloves when opening fan mail to how the show 'Holliston' came about. This interview is conducted by BHM newcommer Brad Slaton. Direct download: Podcast-Adam-Green-Slaton-4-1-12.mp3 Category:Independent Horror Series -- posted at: 1:56 PM Comments[0]

Guest: Fred Andrews Writer/Director of 'Creature' Creature was surrounded by controversy before it ever hit the big screen in over 1,507 theaters. This low budget independent monster movie seemed to have everything horror fans asked for as a low budget independent horror movie to get the "cred" of the big screen rather than the rash of lush studio remakes and 3-D features. There were those, however, who were not happy about elements of this film ranging from advertising tactics to the content of the trailer, and the negative chatter continued to rise. When the film released with reportedly the worst theatrical results for a first weekend in over 1,500 theaters of all time, things got worse and the fighting started. Andrews allegedly disparaged independent horror sites publicly and a few inflated online egos lashed out. In this interview with Andrews The Horror Czar asks about the film, how he managed such a wide release with a freshman effort, what was really said about the online horror community and the truth about "Creature". We’re back with a bit of holiday celebration for you. Tonight we bring you a Valentine’s Day special. Our show tonight will really focus on George Mihalka’s 1981 slasher, My Bloody Valentine, as well as Patrick Lussier’s 2009 3D remake. Along for the ride is special celebrity guest Todd Farmer, who served as one of the primary screenwriters for Lurrier’s contemporary take. Bet on Farmer sharing the ins and outs of the project, exploring his work on the Friday the 13th franchise and dropping a few hints as to what is to come from the talented script writer. Also bet on Mr. Dazed and Confused frequently confusing the name ‘Hanniger’ for ‘Hardiger’ and numerous other variations of the character’s name; it comes with the territory… or should I say the absurd amounts of alcohol. I dedicate this episode of The Ball and Chain Show to the love birds out there: may you travel a much smoother journey than I, and may your Valentine’s Day’s yield far more physical action! And, before this hazy mind forgets, I strongly encourage you to subscribe to out iTunes site as well as our podbean page! Category:Ball and Chain Show

Vincent D'Onofrio is known for different things, depending on who you talk to. He is loved by millions around the world for his role as Detective Robert Goren in the series 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent', a role he played for 10 years, and has been in over 50 movies since 1983 including 'Men in Black', 'Mystic Pizza', 'The Thirteenth Floor', 'Sherlock', and the Jennifer Lopez vehicle 'The Cell'. Vincent may be best known, though, as the fat guy turned psycho Gomer Pyle in 'Full Metal Jacket'. D'Onofrio is also the writer and director of the Slasher/Musical 'Don't Go In the Woods' - yes, that's right... slasher/musical. "Everybody sings, and everybody dies" is the theme of this film with Indie rock mixed with the age-old story of kids camping in the woods who are talked by a crazed killer and disposed of in unique and interesting ways. The Horror Czar (Don Sumner), Editor-in-Chief of Best-Horror-Movies.com talked with Vincent about his beginnings in acting, the risk of being typecast as "That Crazy Guy" after the popular performance in FMJ and the making of an absurd movie with a whack-job concept with not much other than an idea and the commitment to follow through to go on. Best-Horror-Movies.com Podcasts: Debbie Rochon Part 1, Part of the "Horror Movie Freak Scream Queen Series" with host "The Horror Czar", Don Sumner. Debbie Rochon is a Canadian-born actress, writer, radio personality and Scream Queen Superstar. Counting those in production Rochon has appeared in over 180 films since 1982 and she isn't slowing down, making her not only one of the most popular scream queens ever but possibly the hardest working woman in horror. Rochon's "bad girl vibe" first came to prominence in the Troma films "Tromeo and Juliet", "Terror Firmer" and "Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV", but she has played every kind of role from villian to victim, serious to comedic foil. Rochon is also featured as one of the greatest Scream Queens ever in the book "Horror Movie Freak" by Don Sumner. This conversation with Ms. Rochon explores how an "eventful" life shaped the woman she is today, the reality of living in the Indie underground, a blueprint to breaking into Hollywood features and the similarities between those in "polite society" and those making it on the streets.
